Challenge :: The Oyster Bar at Tunks provides a friendly spot for good food, great friends and good music. This joint, just separate from the main restaurant, entertains central Louisiana folks quite often. Holidays are just another reason to throw a party. To promote them, Tunk's turned to KJA (it didn't hurt that many of our crew were regulars). To keep profits high, we needed to work within small-ish black and white newspaper ads.

Solution :: So we knew they had to sing for themselves. The use of illustrations goes a long way toward them doing just that. These little pieces of original KJA artwork, coupled with the layout, gave them a feel like nothing else in the paper.

Challenge :: Good boiled crawfish is a must-serve for any seafood restaurant worth its potatoes and corn. Tunk's completely understood the importance of flavor AND size. So when they were ready to do some outdoor promotion, they came to KJA with crawfish in hand.

Solution :: We simply took it and put it on a billboard. Well it wasn't that simple, we took pictures first. KJA employed a larger than life visual utilizing an extended billboard structure. We paired this giant crawfish with the humorous "Actual size" headline, and let it all sit in a simple, easy to read layout. The caveat "Well, they do TASTE this big" let passersby know one thing right away - Tunk's was serious about their crawdads.
