Client :: Atchafalaya National Heritage Area
Industry :: Government, Tourism

Challenge :: Develop a website for the National Heritage Area to serve as a resource for tourists, businesses and citizens. The site would need to provide a database of tourist attractions, a robust media gallery, online request forms and administration areas for the staff.

Solution :: Since each target audience had different needs, the site was divided into three categories: The Heritage Area, Business Development and an Online Office. The landing page allows website visitors to select the area that best matches their perspective. Once in the site, tourists can search the database of attractions by keywords, regions, cities and types (cultural, historical and natural). Descriptions, maps/directions, nearby attractions, photos and reviews can all be accessed in the detail view of the attraction. Utilizing our Content Management System, this information is entered by the staff via a password-protected administration area. A .pdf "one sheet" of each attraction can be generated on the server by the end user so the attraction information can be either saved or printed for travel reference.
